Top YouTube channels to help you become the best version of yourself
Since there are so many resources to learn from I like to filter for the few which not only entertain but also provide value.
The criteria for this list is that the channels deliver information that is practical and actually produces results.
This list is certainly not complete and I am always open to new suggestions. But since we are about 80/20 we want to keep it as simple as it can be. More sources, more teachers, and more resources usually lead to more confusion rather than to more output.
Fitness
Omar is definitely one of the most hones fitness YouTubers out there. He is not promising unrealistic results, talks about his own mistakes and shows what is possible if you keep training naturally for many years
Fitness is not the only thing Elliott talks about but it is where he started. Combining different training styles his approach is mostly about building an athletic body with the necessary strength. Anybody interested in strong man training, powerlifting, and bodybuilding will find useful information on his channel.
Jason stands for no-nonsense training advice. Many might not like his style but from a scientific standpoint you can’t really find anything wrong with his training which is focused on full-body sessions with heavy compound exercises. He always comes back to the basics also regarding nutrition and supplementation or the lack thereof.
Business
Recently Alex Becker hit a nerve with his thoughts on experience on dopamine detox. Other than that I really like his minimalism which allows him to focus on his long term goals. He is someone who not only talks about making money but also has a track record with his companies to back him up.
Investments
Julian is one of the mentors I have learnt the most from. He is primarily known to his German speaking audience but also releases some of his investment, business and mindset content in English.
Relationship
RSD Tyler on both his own channel and the free tour channel
Tyler aka Owen Cook was focused manly on dating advice for the last fifteen years or so. Recently he and his team have switched more to self help content. Unfortunately many of the old videos are no longer accessible on YouTube. Nevertheless especially latest videos are some of his best and apply to many aspects of life including dating.
The same goes for Owen’s partner in crime Julien who now also mainly focuses on non dating advice.
The former RSD member Todd started his own channel and still releases dating content regularly. He is definitely one of the people who will not tell you what sounds or feels good, but instead what actually works.
Self improvement
Elliott’s second channel covers life advice, mainly for young guys. He answers questions of his followers about different aspects of life. His unique approach to solving problems is definitely motivating and worth watching.
The 80/20 master best known for the “4-Hour Workweek” regularly shares his insights about productivity and also hosts a podcast.
Well balanced channel which alternates between entertaining videos and practical life advice.
Philosophy
Way before writing “12 Rules for Life” Jordan become well known on YouTube by publishing his university lectures and sharing lessons learned from psychology and philosophy.
Great channel about different kind of philosophies and what we can learn from them for day to day life.
That’s it for now, surely not a complete list but some of these are some of the channels I got the most value out of.
Let me know if you have any YouTube channel recommendations.
